The long clothes that we dye will be used in the “Some-no-komichi” dyeing festival, to be held in Shinjuku’s Nakai neighborhood from Feb. 28 to Mar. 2 of next year. Our long clothes and Tanmono which are use to make kimono that will be put on display in the festival’s “River Gallery”, where long lengths of fabrics will hang above a 200-meter stretch of Nakai’s Myoshoji-River.
The Nakai neighborhood has long been a center for producing such kimono fabrics. The 100 Person Dyeing project and Some-no-komichi festival are meant to support this traditional industry, and make it better known to the public. So come one, come all!
